100 YEARS IN THE MAKING

Past the Art Deco exterior and inside the century old historic building that is now the Atrium Office Center, Element Massage is located downstairs on the Garden Level, last suite on the right. You may also find elevator access on the far left end of the arcade - delivering you right to the front of our business doors.

We are proud to be apart of the legacy of what was once was known as the Strand Theatre. These now peaceful halls were once alive with the sounds of one of state's premiere vaudeville scenes before transitioning into a big-screen movie house as the Michigan Theatre. It even hosted a bowling alley in the basement during the 1970's.

The Strand Theatre was built for Walter Scott Butterfield, who owned 19 theaters in Michigan and several more out of the state. Butterfield’s granddaughter was the model for the beautiful terra cotta relief on the building's façade. Her face still looks down on passersby along Washington Avenue.

AT HOME WITHIN THE ATRIUM

Element Massage is nestled in the quiet and tranquil atmosphere of the Atrium Office Center's Garden Level where we provide helping and healing massage. We've had the honor of being in our location since 2016 and have worked with over 1000 different clients!

Unless you were a patron of it's theatrical days, most people have never been within the Atrium arcade. We always enjoy seeing the reactions of our clients when they enter the building for the first time. Most people might recognize the site of where the former theatre stood: the balcony seating and the brick perimeter can be seen from Grand Ave.

From the French inspired architecture to the sun dabbled greenery, there is plenty to be admired in this space. Be sure to check out the grand staircases on the main floor and don't forget to look up!
